Fair-i-ly beautiful!!

I am in love with today's card! :-) I found some gorgeous sheets of paper on a trip to the nearby market today. I've used a couple of them today :-) And I am proud of myself! Well, modesty seems to be my middle name, huh? ;-) Jokes apart, this card is for a few challenges
- Get Sketchy's 'awesome' sketch
- The Cuttlebug Spot's Color Challenge (Pink and green).
- Cute Card Thursday's Dimensional Cards
- Creative Cottage's Pretty Pink challenge
- Crafty Creations' Anything Goes Challenge # 61
- Incy Wincy Designs' Stitching
- Quirky Crafts Challenge's theme of Flowers
- Papertake Weekly's Open Theme

The image is a rub-on transfer from Hobby Ideas. I have used the 3D outliner for all the 3D glitter effect on the card. Stitched and ruffled a piece of organza ribbon... I made the flower by following a tutorial on the Whiff of Joy tutorial blog (well, loosely).. I did the white faux stitching with a white gel pen (one of my favorite tools these days!)

Hope you like it...

Ciao,
Smita

PS: The green paper was already embossed.. And the pink had a very different texture... I hope you can see it in the picture... they were so beautiful that I couldn't let go of  them in the store... ;-)

Will you ... marry me?

A card that I am quite happy with. :-)

The image is a digital stamp from Meljen's Designs (it is called Bunny Love). I used my Labels 3 Nesties for the first time today (and learnt a lesson too!). The image is colored using my Derwent Pencils and Turpentine oil. Lace and rhinestones are from my stash and the patterned paper is Hobby Ideas.

The sentiment is handwritten and my own... The card front reads 'Ummm... Will you... Umm...' and the inside reads '...Marry Me?'. I wanted to write a sentiment that matched the blushing rabbit images :-) And I am in love with this card.

This is my card for this week's 2S4U sketch.

Cheers,
Smita

Two cards

This one is a sample card I made for a friend who wanted some birth announcement cards. I will need to make loads of changes to this one depending on her requirements so I thought it safe enough to post here.

Kind of bored of seeing yellow on my cards now... I just promised myself something different tomorrow...!

And this next is just an attempted ode to Tim Holtz... he he he... You know, when I started blogging and paper crafting, I couldn't understand anybody's love for distressing or for vintage images in the cards. In fact, I hated distressing... I did like those coffee-stained/aged papers though. Anyway, things have changed a great deal since then. I am now a great Tim Holtz fan... ordered a few masks and a distress ink. This card isn't a card per se... just a folded card stock on which I have tried masking and using distress ink ;-)...

You know why...

Those who've been reading regularly know why I am posting this card. Yes, I am a very very happy girl today. Touch wood.

A simple card with nothing more than what meets the eye. ;-)

Mojo

My attempt at Mojo Monday's sketch this week... Must say I am disappointed! Don't even feel like submitting it :-( I was hoping to do it differently... Anyway...

The image is a freebie digi stamp but I don't remember where I got it from. I'll update this post as soon as I can get it again. Colored it using my pencils and a glitter gel pen for the dress and ribbon. The paper is Heidi Grace (Donna!! what would I do without you... I'll need a label for your name too ;-) I mention you in every post!! ). That's about it... The 'flower' is created from a pom-pom lace and nobody at home except my little boy appreciated it LOL!

I am submitting this card was also made for Melanie Barrett's birthday challenge.

Window blinds

Here is the card I have for this week's  2S4Y sketch. Playing along after really really long so I took my own sweet time to create this one. An I love my card!! I have used the Window Blinds technique I saw on PCP (yeah, the blinds that don't need any cleaning!! sounds heavenly! LOL..)

All pictures taken in bad light at night.... when will I learn!!?! I will try and reload better pictures of this some day ;-)

The stamp and patterned paper are from Hobby Ideas. Because I have so few stamps with me, I prefer not using them on all cards... else you will have nothing new to see here LOL!! I've saved this one for a long time now... thought it finally the right time to show it off :-D This type of cards can have more than one tags sticking out of the blinds, but I felt one was enough for mine.

The button flower was made long back...(remember my button flower garden card?)... I made quite a few right then! It came in quite handy today!!

Hope you like it....

And yes, an updated pic in better light!

Grrrrrrrrr...... and a card!

Grrrrr... because my Cuttlebug is still not with me! The parcel has been lounging around with the Indian Customs and then India Post for around a week now! Frustrating to know that it is sooooo close yet so far! :-(

Today's card is one of my favorites to date. Nothing much t write about... someone I know had asked me to make one for his wife (who is a super dancer and choreographer). This is a sample I made for him. I hope he likes it...

The image of the couple is a clipart. I hand-cut it (I'm trying my hands at the famous Scherenscnitte Silhouette technique these days; even got a new pair of scissors just for that LOL!!Anyway, I had this image in mind ever since he asked me to make the card... The gorgeous floral paper is from Hobby Ideas; the epoxy word sticker is from Donna's Heidi Grace pack :-); the lace, button, flower, rhinestones, twine and eyelets are all from my stash.Hope you like the card too...
Hoping this qualifies for a few challenges:

Ooh-la-la Creations Challenge : A button, a bow(its on my button) and some bling
Cute Card Thursday (once more): Anniversary
Michelle Perkett's challenge on PCP (please count the floral paper and faux stitching till I get another card ready for this! ;-) )

Easy cards

A couple of easy and quick cards I made yesterday and today. The first one I had to make because I wanted to use orange :D... and the second one because I wanted to recycle and reuse.

Sorry again for the terrible pics! Here the black and white printed portion is a tag that came with a top I bought a few days back... the tag was so pretty I had to use it on a card! The flowers are punched from the backing paper of a sheet of rub-ons ;-) Inspired by Ujjwal who uses recycled stuff so so very well :D

Submitting it for Cute Card Thursday's challenge - Anniversary (these are both wedding anniversary cards).

It is a BOY!! and I am an Aunt :-)

My cousin sister (we're almost the same age) had a baby boy yesterday and I am a first-time 'Masi' (maternal aunt)!!! I am delighted beyond words and so is everyone else in the family! We have been all waiting for her delivery for the past couple of weeks.... The little one is an adorable sweetheart and this is the card I made for the new addition to our family:

I loved the card and so did my mom-in-law. The image is a cute hologram sticker.. the ribbons are from my stash... I stitched the button on to the bow for some stability... The pictures are terrible I am sorry!!

I made a last second change and added a little sentiment!

I'm in love!!...

...with my newly cured printer and my collection of digi images that I can now finally print!! :-)

A couple of cards I made today using a Cuddly Buddly image and a Tilly image from Digital Doodling.

Today both my cards are for little girls... I'm thoroughly enjoying this kiddie phase of card-making that I am going through currently! So is my son! He thinks all these cards are for him LOL!!

This card fits into the My Time to Craft Challenge (cards for kids).

Cutely pink... and Naughtily blue

Here is a baby girl card. Still to stamp the sentiment though.

Messed up a little at the last moment. Anyway, I kind of liked the colors and I'm in love with the hologram sticker, which I was quite reluctant to buy at first!

And a boy card using a free digi stamp from Cuddly Buddly. They have the cutest collection of digi stamps I think. I've had them for a while now... my printer just started working today and I wasted no time LOL!

Some handmade paper, cardstock, ric rac, and a button are all else that went into this card.

Smita

Black and white

Felt like doing a monochrome card... So here it is...

Nothing much to write about.. Tried a ribbon flower; used a scalloped scissor for the patterned paper and a sentiment sticker.

This card fits into the Crafty Creations challenge and Smart Words challenge (Monochromatic).

Cute and simple

Hi,

A cute and simple card to share... I sooooo loved the button flowers I saw online that I had to make some... A little messy (because of the strong glue) but very easy and simply adorable! I have not been following any challenges of late.. Just my heart! Want to do what I feel like for a while. :-)

Hope you like the card.

Project DH revealed...

Here are the cards I created for DH's birthday. The first one (chocolate and gold) was made to order for Richa and Chirag (my sister and brother-in-law) and Aditya (my bro). The background text on the brown cardstock is handwritten and the design inside is handcut. It has a matching envelope with similar hndwritten text.

The next card is a regular card with loads of blue and loads of glitter:

The last card is a side-step card. I had this tutorial lying around with me for quite a while now... and while wondering what card I can make for him, I stumbled across this one... The idea was easy to come by... we are both coffee drinkers and have many memories revolving around the mugs :-) The sentiment was a random thought that got more polished by Google ;-)

Smita

One of my favorites so far

Here's a card I just made... started with random ideas... but this one has turned out to be one of my most favorite ones so far. But the best of my cards (according to me, of course) should be posted later this week (after Dh's birthday).

This is for my maternal uncle and aunt's 25th wedding anniversary. I hope they like it.

The flower is inspired by Enfys. I loved her flower so much that it immediately started off an idea flow in my mind for this card that I'd been trying to make since yesterday. Thanks a ton, Enfys, for being such an inspiration!!

A closeup of the flower (pat pat... proud of meself.. ;-) )

I've used both handmade and regular cardstocks here. The flourishes are another current favorite with me... from a Faber Castell stencil. Hope you like this card too (if you see the disastrous card that I'd come up with yesterday, you'll surely like this one...LOL!)

Cheers,
Smita

Till later...
